The Irish Data Centre Supplier Alliance (IDCSA) has successfully hosted its first ever networking event for member organisations.
The in-person event was hosted in partnership with Amazon Ireland, taking place in Amazon Ireland’s Dublin offices on Thursday, 24th September.
The event included an address from Niamh Gallagher, Country Lead for Amazon Web Services Ireland and Director of Infrastructure Public Policy (EMEA), and a roundtable discussion with Paul Meaney, Operations Director (EMEA) at Amazon Web Services; Liam Kenny, CEO of John Paul Construction; and Richard Scannell, Head of Public Policy, AWS Ireland & Benelux. These discussions focused on the pressing issues facing the data centre sector and the opportunities for Irish supply chain companies going forward.

The gathering marked an important milestone in the continued growth and development of the IDCSA as a member’s organisation and it offered an opportunity for companies to gather as an industry, network and create business development opportunities.
Addressing the guests, IDCSA chairperson Tom Parlon said:
“To see such a crowd gathered here tonight for this first networking event for the IDCSA tells me that there’s a massive appetite and need for this organisation. We’ve companies represented in this room tonight from right across the supply chain, including very large businesses down to smaller firms, and everything in between. The IDCSA was established to be the voice of this ecosystem of Irish based companies feeding into the global data centre supply chain.

“It’s a very broad and diverse group of companies we aim to represent, and over the past 9 months we’ve met some really interesting companies that have the most extraordinary stories of how the DC sector is driving their business growth. There’s some brilliant stories to tell in this sector, and we’ve really ambitious plans for the year ahead.”
